International trade offers opportunities to members and friends of the Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Improvement in the U.S. economy is increasing demand for imports, as political and economic progress in many foreign countries increases demand for exports. Barriers to trade are continuing to fall, with the U.S. on the verge of approving important trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea.

The Dominican Republic – Central America Free Trade Agreement, commonly called DR-CAFTA, is a free trade agreement that includes seven signatories: the United States, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The MAHCC actively lobbied for the passage of this agreement and was invited to attend President George W. Bush's ceremonial signing of the treaty at the White House.
