About Mind & Media, Inc.

mind and media logoIn 1994, Dr. Marilyn Finnemore and Aldo Bello formed Mind & Media, Inc., with a vision of creating a company where people feel respected and empowered, a place where they are challenged by work that requires intelligence, creativity, and cutting-edge skills. They envisioned a place where they could offer clients excellent communication products and services that make a measurable change in organizations, communities, and our world— products that inspire action.

Realizing the power of language to make a positive difference in the world and the importance of communicating via the right technology, they pooled their talents to form a company that proved a business could be profitable and viable and still be humane, fun, and empowering for those who worked there. With a doctorate in English and an extensive background in technical and professional writing, Marilyn brought the MIND to Mind & Media, and with a master's in radio, television & film, and years of working for the area's leading broadcast and cable companies (Public Television, Discovery Communications and FOX), Aldo brought the MEDIA.

Understanding the importance of giving their employees a great environment in which to work, Marilyn and Aldo have taken pride in creating a beautiful, state-of-the-art headquarters that inspires creativity. Our stellar products and solutions are the result of a culture where everyone is empowered to be a leader and where creativity and individual talents are recognized, rewarded, and cultivated.

Under Marilyn and Aldo's stellar leadership, Mind & Media has won more than 200 awards since its inception, including a finalist mention in the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards and a Production of the Year Award from the DoD Visual and Information Production Awards. Mind & Media was also named one of the Best Places to Work in Greater Washington by Washington Business Journal and a Great Place to Work by Washingtonian Magazine.

Based on best practices, this orientation program effectively teaches staff how to write and design to emphasize key messages that inspire audiences to take action. Staying on the cutting edge of today's communication technology is central to Mind & Media's success. Well founded in traditional forms of media (radio, television, print, presentations), Dr. Finnemore and Mind & Media are also adept in all new forms of media including streaming video, all forms of web, blended media, and social media. Mind & Media adeptly wields these many forms of media to meet the complex challenges that today's government agencies face.
