Welcome to the MAHCC

Welcome to the Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce!

We are one of the friendliest and  most active and service-oriented Chambers of Commerce in the region.  We champion the Mid Atlantic States and our Nation's Capital,  Washington-DC,  as premier international destinations and sought-after locations to visit,  start a business,  live,  work and play.  And we are passionate about promoting and helping you grow your business while at the same time fostering economic development,  strengthening the region's existing workforce,  developing the workforce of the future and working towards improving the quality of life in the region.

This is what we do for you

We offer a variety of programs to assist our member companies,  large and small,  grow successful businesses. We help our corporate sponsors reach their target audience successfully;  and,  we encourage and assist our nonprofit organizations to become effective providers to their constituents.  Whether your business is still a concept,  a start-up or a growing entity,  we give you the tools to help you:

  • Start your business the right way;
  • Generate quality business leads;
  • Build long-lasting business relationships;

  • Improve business and civic leadership skills.

This is what we do for the Mid-Atlantic Region

Through words and action,  we invest ourselves in helping the region to:

  • Help prepare the business and civic leaders of the future;
  • Restore and improve the sustainability of the Chesapeake Bay by promoting a regional stewardship;
  • Protect the quality of life of the communities we serve;
  • Expand intrastate and interstate transportation modalities to reduce commuter travel time and air pollution;
  • Reduce traffic congestion by encouraging carpooling or ride sharing,  by increasing mixed-used development around Metro stations and by avoiding the excessive concentration of commercial and office space in one jurisdiction and little or none in nearby communities;
  • Improve public schools by encouraging parents to become actively engaged in the daily supervision of their children's education,  improving the quality and performance of administrators and teachers, and holding school boards accountable for the academic success of every student;
  • Prepare future workforce readiness by emphasizing careers in science,  technology,  engineering,  mathematics,  management and education;
  • Improve emergency readiness and evacuation preparedness,  particularly around the Nation's Capital;
  • Make Washington, D.C. and the region a premiere international destination;
  • Promote tourism and make the region a magnet for domestic and international conventions and trade shows;
  • Develop into a premiere international center for scientific and technological innovation;
  • Reduce poverty and illiteracy by emphasizing programs that encourage self-sufficiency,  personal responsibility,  civility and better attention to the needs of children and youth;  and,
  • Restore the livability of older communities by providing them with essential infrastructure such as quality schools,  libraries and job and health center.

Member activities at the chapter level include luncheons with dynamic speakers,  Meet & Greet networking events,  Ribbon-cutting and Grand Opening ceremonies,  business seminars,  new-member orientation, community festivals, etc.  Annual regional events include our Annual Latinas in Business Award Luncheon (March or April),  procurement fair and matchmaking event (September or October),  and Poinsettia Festival Awards Dinner & Dance  (early December).
