Banana Café and Piano Bar is renowned for its Cuban, Mexican and Puerto Rican Cuisine. The Piano Bar upstairs has one of the best Happy Hours on the Hill as well as live entertainment every night.

It has been a long dream of Jorge Zamorano to have a fun, colorful and exciting restaurant here in DC that depicted the fun atmosphere he experienced living in Cuba, Puerto Rico and his many visits to Mexico. He took that vision and made it into reality.

Zamorano, a self-taught artist, left Cuba to live in Puerto Rico with his family. In San Juan, at the early age of ten, he began to experiment with color and the human form. It's in the intensity of his use of color that he demonstrates a close affinity with his Caribbean heritage.

We gladly accept reservations for the dining room for parties of 6 or larger. Regrettably, no reservations accepted for the Piano Bar.

Foodcrawling: Banana Café & Piano Bar
Bridget Shirvell, The Latin | July 2, 2013

The Banana Café & Piano Bar has quickly become a favorite locals spot. There's plenty of outdoor seating and inside, the brightly painted walls of the main dining area combined with the upstairs piano bar give the place a relaxed and cozy feel.
