Casa Luca is Fabio and Maria Trabocchi's osteria grounded in the rustic spirit and traditional recipes of the Marche region of Italy. Whether you are celebrating a family event, enjoying a date night, or a working a power
lunch, Casa Luca offers many choices to customize your meal.

Casa Luca evokes the warm atmosphere of the Trabocchi family dinners in both Italy and Spain. The interior showcases hand blown Gordiola glass lamps from Maria Trabocchi's home of Mallorca, Spain, and custom carved
wood block printed textiles from Antica Stamperia Marchi near the Marche region's Adriatic coast. Vintage Trabocchi family photographs as well as beautiful and evocative scenes from Fabio's home region of Le Marche are displayed throughout the main dining room and in the private dining rooms.

Casa Luca has unique Italian wines on tap (available nowhere else!) and a cellar selection from Italy, Spain and California. Our approach to wine is accessibility, quality and variety to encourage unfettered enjoyment.

Our bar features beers on tap, cocktails designed by Jeff Faile, and a large selection of classic Italian amari – including Varnelli and Meletti, both from Le Marche – and other digestivi, as well as grappa and many other Italian liqueurs.

About Chef Fabio Trabochi

Every chef is the product of a place and a tradition. For Fabio, the place is Le Marche, a relatively unknown
region of central Italy on the Adriatic coast across the Apennines from Rome. The tradition is the sharecropping system known as mezzadria, in which every Trabocchi down the line was a farmer. From his father, Giuseppe, who was also known as a great cook, Fabio inherited a love of cooking and an appreciation for the communal way of life.

When the mezzadria system was dismantled by Big Agriculture, his father became a long haul truck driver. Yet he still taught young Fabio how to select products and get the most from ingredients by taking him around to all of his former sharecropper friends as he shopped for Sunday's family meal. This unintended culinary "education" was just the normal way of life.

Casa Luca represents Giuseppe's legacy transferred to the next generation.Cooking has been Fabio's way of continuing the traditions of Le Marche, as well as the culinary heritage of his own farm family. "Casa" means
home, and "Luca" represents the next generation (his 9-year-old son, Luca). Casa Luca captures the authentic
and affordable cooking of Marche families - those sharecroppers, fishermen, butchers, grocers, truck drivers
and artisans - and the Italian spirit of conviviality around a communal table.

Editorial Reviews

Casa Luca
Tom Sietsema, The Washington Post | October 10, 2013

Casa Luca is a response to patrons of the chic Fiola who told Fabio Trabocchi they were hungry for something more relaxed. "We love Fiola, but we want to come with our kids," the chef recalls his customers telling him. Introduced in July, Casa Luca takes its name from Trabocchi's young son and places diners in a large and light-filled osteria, its walls made personal with family photographs.

First Bite: Casa Luca, a thoughtful spinoff
Tom Sietsema, The Washington Post | July 10, 2013

Seemingly every dish at Casa Luca, the casual spinoff of the modish Fiola, comes with a bite-size story.
Take "Maria's" gazpacho, named for the Spanish wife of chef-owner Fabio Trabocchi and based on her mother's high standards. The pale orange soup is mostly heirloom tomatoes, pureed to a creamy state with cucumber, bell peppers, olive oil and a hint of garlic: the perfect foil to wilting weather.
