Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant, at the heart of it all, between Q and R streets, brings a mix of old and new-world elegance to the rowhouses and Victorian arhitecture that line this historic neighborhood. Executive Chef Pedro Garzon
Pedro Garzon, whose family has roots in both the US and Spain, descends from several generations of Spanish olive growers. Since his early years, he has earned certificates from The French Culinary Institute, as well as from the NRA Educational Foundation. Chef Pedro having an extensive background in the restaurant industry, combined with impressive culinary skills in his blood, makes him a talent to follow.
Over the years, Chef Pedro has spent time working in NYC, where he served as Sous Chef at International Management Group. He then made his move to Seattle, WA where his skills were put to use as Executive Sous Chef at Sorrento Hotel and later accepted a position as the restaurant Chef at the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel. From there, he moved on to serve as Chef de Cuisine at Cascadia Restaurant, which was voted as one of Esquire Magazine's "Best New Restaurants" that year. In 2001, Chef Pedro brought his culinary expertise to Connecticut and worked at Beacon Restaurant as Sous Chef.
Shortly after, he acquired the role of Executive Sous Chef in-house at GE Corporate Headquarters for Sodexho Corporate Services. Looking to return to a restaurant environment, Chef Pedro joined the Barcelona team as Executive Chef in South Norwalk. In 2009, Chef Pedro seized the opportunity to open his own restaurant, Café Manolo, where he served as both the owner and chef. Café Manolo was a Mediterranean inspired restaurant located in downtown Westport. The restaurant was named after his grandfather who is responsible for exposing him to the many cuisines throughout Europe.
