This friendly but small coffee-and-lunch spot on Wisconsin Avenue, which is owned by a delightful couple—Ruth and Joseph Poupon, attracts Georgetown's elite and fills them up with tempting sweets.
Be it for a cup of coffee or tea to be for sure accompanied by a croissant aux amandes (a croissant filled with a scrumptious almond paste and crowned with roasted almonds), or to satisfy a craving with the many tempting sweet delights being offered or just enjoy a meal from a selection of quiches and paninis, Pâtisserie Poupon is the place to be at historic Georgetown.
But plan ahead, especially in warm days and weekends. The good reputation of this little culinary jewel attracts crowds and long lines, which the limited indoor seating cannot readily accommodate. However, when the weather is comfortable for outdoor seating there is a patio which allows for al fresco eating.
