"Mourayo" is Greek for safe harbor where fishermen moor their boats. Mourayo offers a unique, traditional and contemporary Greek cuisine in an intimate, casual and modern bistro ambiance. Our regional variations on meats, fish, poultry and legumes have been inspired by the traditional Greek and Mediterranean food culture.

We aspire to present an original cuisine concept of this coastal land of blue skies and sparkling blue waters with its thousands of islands! Let us sail you to the Aegean Sea and experience Greek cuisine like never before. There is a reason why the restaurant design was inspired by the interiors of a Greek yacht.

The menu consists of a wide variety of appetizers, classic meze style dips as well as hearty entrees including fresh whole fish (grilled or baked in salt), seafood, pork, lamb, goat, poultry, game, legumes and vegetables. Our selection of homemade desserts is the perfect way to culminate your gastronomic experience. Enjoy a "Pirasmos", dessert sampler, top notch espresso and coffee, a fine selection of herbal teas; and, of course, traditional Greek coffee.

The wine list offers a broad selection of Greek Wines from some of the most historic Greek wine producing regions as well as a limited choice of American wines.

100 Best Restaurants 2010: Mourayo

It used to be that the flaming cheese known as saganaki—lit tableside—delivered most of the excitement in going out to eat Greek. At this cozy bistro, the drama is quieter but more intriguing. It offers a modern makeover of a traditional, often heavy cuisine—from the liberal use of Greek wines and ouzos in dishes to the focus on native cheeses. Even better, for all of the refinement, the cooking still retains an essential gutsiness.
