Welcome to On the Border! In 1982, the first On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina opened on Knox Street in Dallas. It quickly became known for its unique border-style Mexican food and great tasting Margaritas. Today, On The Border is owned by On The Border Acquisition LLC, with 155 restaurants in 36 states, Puerto Rico, and four countries worldwide. On the Border is a casual mid-scale restaurant featuring mesquite grilled specialties and high quality Tex-Mex favorites. Frozen margaritas, specialty tequilas and Mexican beers round out the menu, which is served in surroundings great for family, friends and gatherings of any occasion.
After 30 years, On The Border still serves made-from-scratch sauces; meats are mesquite-grilled and cooked to order, and guacamole is made in small batches every four hours. In December of 1996, Chesapeake Bay was offered the opportunity to franchise OTB in the Washington, D.C. area. We currently operate two locations in the area--Bowie andTysons Corne, both offering great food and drinks, patio seating and reasonable pricing.
